●卸载无用的动态链接 资源管理器*常在内存中留下无用的动态链接,为了 消除这种现象,你可以 打开注册表编*器,设置键值: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionxplorer AlwaysUnloadDLL=DWORD: 1将其设为0,这一功能就会被关闭。

| Try setting Format/Character Set to Simplified Chinese (GB-2312) in an email app that can do it, like Entourage. Your Mozilla client sent it back erroneously as IS) 8859-1, which it isn't. Entourage would have been able to read the original in "Automatic" and would have known to reply in either GB-2312 or in UTF-8, which would be fine. I never saw the original, but if you read John's reply in Mozilla, it ought to hav e been OK if he sent it from Entourage, as he usually does, and your reader (Mozilla, or whatever variety you have) would be at fault. -- Paul Berkowitz MVP Entourage Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/toc.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> Please "Reply To Newsgroup" to reply to this message. | Mozilla/Communicator/Thunderbird have 8859-1 set as default though all are capable viewing any of th "ese's" and Moz/Tbird are capable of UNICODE in OSX. The reason for setting 8859-1 as default is that 99.999% of Email newsgroup traffic is english (americam British, Austrailian aware. I've been an internet user about 10 years starting with buliten Boards and 300 baud modems. And in all thouse years I've probably run across 20 messages that were of the "ese" variety. more than half were spam, often judging from the included pictures probably porn. So the the idea its a defect of a particular browser is nonsense. I refuse to use Entourage/OE/IE due to all the back door weaknesses for key loggers/spyware/adware and the use of ActiveX which the way MS implimentsit is far more dangerous than Java ever was. And the fact I like the outline type system that Mozilla products use for Email newsgroups. | PS: even when setting to chinese that still doesn't help me read chinese. I did switch to the format you said to tryout. It did show the chinese characters. But didn't help me figure out what it said. If you want a language useful you should switch and be able to see the english translation. I'm not a Rhodes Scholar, or an MIT type that knows how to read every language in the world. <grin> "Phillip M. But you've just verified that it was the problem. Mozilla did not correctly identify the character set and reply in kind. But it's quite possible that the original, as sent from Windows, did not contain a charset= header: I've seen that in some other news articles posted in these newsgroups, usually from a web-based Microsoft Windows browser. So that's what we should probably balme. > > I refuse to use Entourage/OE/IE due to all the back door weaknesses for key > loggers/spyware/adware and the use of ActiveX which the way MS implimentsit > is far more dangerous than Java ever was. And the fact I like the outline > type system that Mozilla products use for Email newsgroups. There is NO ActiveX in Entourage, and you can easily block the HTML trawlers by turning off "Allow interaction" preference for HTML mail - or even turn off all Complex HTML mail completely. You seem to be about 5 years out of date, Phillip. Turning off those preferences gives you identical protection. (In OE you had to use a hack to do it - in Entourage it's a pref.) -- Paul Berkowitz MVP Entourage Entourage FAQ Page: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/toc.html> AppleScripts for Entourage: <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/> Please "Reply To Newsgroup" to reply to this message. | It was GB-2312. I checked. And I did send from Entourage :-) This responds to article <BC9F6732.5FF09%berkowit@spoof_silcom.com>, from "Paul Berkowitz" <berkowit@spoof_silcom.com> on 12/4/04 2:20 PM: > Try setting Format/Character Set to Simplified Chinese (GB-2312) in an email > app that can do it, like Entourage. | Hey Phillip: Face it, your newsreader is stuffed :-) Yes, the original was missing its charset line. I saw this immediately in Entourage, and was able to choose the one that would correctly display the Kanzi. When I replied, I suspect Entourage chose to send in Unicode, since I don't have Chinese installed. Nobody is forcing you to adopt Entourage: we just find it amusing that you keep referring to "problems" we haven't had for years :-) It sorta detracts from the very worthwhile advice you give around here. Every now and again, even you will get one wrong. At that point, why not just admit it -- with as much ill-grace as I do if you must -- and move on? Entourage may be a great PIM program. but a great news reader it ain't. That's no to say, its not a great product. It may be the greatest product in the universe. But, I just don't like the way its setup. Of all the applications I Use in Office, I don't use Entourage and PowerPoint. Half the Office package is a waste to me. But its cheaper to buy the whole deal than buy just Excel and Word. If MS came out with a version of Office that had just Word and Excel and the price was reduced about half I would jump on it so fast it would amzing to see for this tree hundred pound frame. :-) -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phillip M. | Hi Phillip: This responds to article <#OCtXtWIEHA.2744@TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl>, from "Phillip M. Jones, CE.T." <pjones@kimbanet.com> on 14/4/04 1:23 AM: > You have the right to your opinion and I do mine. > Oh, absolutely. Just because I am a cranky old fart doesn't make me right :-) > I keep trying entorage periodically (Don't have the oSX version yet. And for > me I don't see much difference between It and OE. Yeah, well you're a couple of versions behind... It has improved a lot. It's still not a "great" newsreader :-) But the ability to have calendar, scheduling, email with multiple account types and news with multiple servers in the one fairly light-weight application makes it compelling for me. I like it a lot better than Outlook 2003, which "works" but it's like a Mack Truck and too complicated and fiddly compared to Entourage. > > I like the Outline format Mozilla products use and the ease of which you can > view and subscribe to newsgroups. In Entourage and OE its an ordeal to read > newsgroups. That's a lot better in the next version. Not perfect, but ""good". > Of all the applications I Use in Office, I don't use Entourage and PowerPoint. I've taken to using PowerPoint for graphics. Again: next version, but you will find that it exposes a lot more of the Microsoft Drawing tools in a more convenient form, and it enables you to save the result out as an independent file, which Word won't do. You may laugh when I say "Microsoft Drawing Tools" but it's like this: I have the latest version of one of the big two graphics applications installed here as well. Most of the time I do not use it, because most of the time I am handling corporate documents. There's no point in filling corporate documents with AI or even EPS: they just can't handle those formats without a high-end graphics package. And no corporation is going to buy every user a high-end graphics package. I get paid to produce "maintainable" documents, so most of the time I work in PowerPoint. Of course, PowerPoint is very good for making presentations, and it particularly has the edge for "presenting" them. But I try to avoid all kinds of meetings, and redouble my avoidance behaviour for meetings containing slides :-) > Half the Office package is a waste to me. But its cheaper to buy the whole > deal than buy just Excel and Word. If MS came out with a version of Office > that had just Word and Excel and the price was reduced about half I would jump > on it so fast it would amzing to see for this tree hundred pound frame. :-) Never likely, because of the way they make it. "Office" has not really been a set of individual applications for some years, and this trend is particularly evident in multi-tasking operating system versions such as Windows XP and Mac OS X. These days, Office is a "layer" sitting on top of the operating system. The OS does all the file handling and draws everything on the screen and does all the printing. Then there's the Office layer which knows about text and languages and dialogs and help and stuff like that. "Word" is actually a fairly thin layer that sits on top of that and causes the OS to draw things that look like a document. "Excel" is another layer: basically uses the same table engine as Word but adds a calculation library. Once you have those two, you have 95 per cent of the code for PowerPoint and Entourage, so you might as well drop them into the box too. If you do, you get to make the whole thing more cheaply, because you can cross-call widgets out of Entourage to use in Word and vice versa, without having to handle the possibility that the other one may not be installed, or may be installed later. I have been saying for some time that we should simply admit this, and produce "Office" as a single application, a la Works. Regrettably, we have discovered that people won't buy Works because they think there's only one product in the box. They will buy Office because they think there are four products in the box and so it must be better. Of course, personally I am never guilty of such "if some is good, more must be better..." thinking. Unless it comes to Hi Fi. Or cars. Or motorcycles. Or Ice Cream. Or women... (Was the first Program I ever bought for my Mac SE/30 - remeber thoses.) And contunued to use it until it was discontinued. But I also bought Excel first because the version in Works left out more than half the formulas. Then, I bought Word because The full version had twice as many features as in Word. If the full version of Excel and Word had been packaged as Works it still would used today. If you would examine works for PC (which is still sold) you'll find each component is pared down with not near as many features. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phillip M.
