| Regarding the David vs Goliath debate, here is 2c: I have the 17" and in the beginning I was shocked. The first unit I saw in "the flesh" was in Tokyo and my immediate response was NO WAY! This beast is too big. In fact I had my iBook 12" with me, and I was thinking, how cool it is to take around with you. After coming back to the UK, a couple of months later, I heard that I could get the PB for less at Dixons (airport or Eurotunnel) and decided that my iBook was getting too slow, so I went for it. I was impressed with the speed, quality of screen etc etc, but it did feel big. Two months later I had to go and make some fixes on the girlfriend's inherited iBook, and believe me when I say, it felt as if I was using a gameboy on steroids. HONESTLY. I was so peeved to have lost so much screen real estate and clarity. I have also suped up the memory by buying a 512MB module from Crucial, and no bull, applications FLY on it. It even makes Office v.X usable! In short, I would probably not go back to a smaller notebook. I love the screen, and to be honest the difference between the 15 and the 17 inch models is small in terms of footpring, but worth it when it comes to screen and speed. The two top things about it, apart from the screen are the built in bluetooth, and the Aluminium case. It is very resistant to taking around with you and has had no scratches on it. On the other hand the iBook would have lost its shine by now. I say shell out for the 17 incher. Sure, initially it will seem as a bulky laptop, but within weeks you will be spoilt and feel as everything else belongs in the hands of children as they look like toys! N |

Absolutely, and if you are buying it for your VAT registered company it works out to a further 17.5% off if you claim against VAT that is. The super bonus about this is that if you fly out of heathrow, BA has a service where you can pick up your items upon return from a trip, so provided you can curb your enthusiasm you will not have to schlep it around with you on your long weekend/business trip.
