Default Safara gives me a "can't find server" message at microsoft website

Safari can't open the page
"http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/a/f/9af04d2e-d539-4d98-9216-a598505a1ffd/Install_Messenger.exe"
because it can't find the server "download.microsoft.com".

Would you mind posting the name of your ISP? Quite a few people are
having this problem.

I have the same issue when trying to download updates for Office 2004
for mac or try to download windows media player. My computer cannot
find the server "download.microsoft.com". My ISP is Comcast.

Here's some advice from another user:
-----------------
If comcast is the ISP provider
they are having a problem with the DNS servers. The fix is to go to the
TCP/IP and enter 68.87.64.196 then on the next line type 68.87.66.196.
Click apply and go back to the ms.mac download page and get the update.
