| I'm running a G5 with OS X 10.36. The Applications folders keeps loosing the icon view options that I set when ever I reboot. They appear all over lapped on one another. I set it for "keep alphabetical, right side names, small icons" but the next time I reboot, they are all scrambled again. I've tried deleting the ds-store file via Terminal, but still no go. Any suggestions? Dave L. |

If you set the view options, then close the window, and then open it again, what happens? |

| Dave, The Apps window when ever it is opened again is just fine. It's just not kept orderly after a reboot. Have fixed permissions, have cleaned/fixed it with TechTool Pro and Disk Warrior. Still no go the next day. Dave L. | Long ago, I got frustrated by folder view options that would be gone the next login. Turned out that the folder(s) with the problem were owned by the admin account, and the changes I made in my personal account were cached by Finder rather than written to .DS_Store (which I did not have write privileges for) I logged in as admin, set up the folders the way I liked them, and that fixed it permanently. -- Wes Groleau ----------- Daily Hoax: http://www.snopes2.com/cgi-bin/random/random.asp |
