| There is now a data logger that works with the Mac, for US $200. I bought a unit sight unseen after seeing it mentioned in Macworld (May 2005, page 68), and looking over the website "http://www.onsetcomp.com". I got a model U12-012, and have been using it for about a week now. So far, so good. Everything works as advertised. Although not obvious from the photos, the unit is 70mm by 57mm by 17mm, and fits easily in a shirt pocket. One thing I would change is the light measurement channel: It's linear, while logarithmic would be better. With linear, ordinary indoor illumination levels are at the bottom of the sensitivity range. I haven't tried the unit in full sunlight. It may saturate. Apparently, only the U12 series have Mac software (MacOS 10 only). All series have Windows software. I didn't know of that one. So there are just these two, or are there some others? > > No relation to the manufacturer except as a customer. > > Same here. |
