| Apple has its little revenge. Their description of QT Player Pro for the PC might lead one to pay the paltry $29.95... too bad. It's not at all the same as the native Mac application. IT CANNOT MAKE MOVIES FROM A DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA. I find this a huge shortcoming. Where's Apple's head? Yeah, yeah, I have Mac hardware, tons of it and have since the first Mac came out, but I have PC clients, too. This really sucks. |

I'm not aware of Quick Time Player Pro on the Mac being software to make movies from a digital camera (no capitalisation required BTW). The clue is in the title ... it's designed as a, err, player! You can actually do a little basic editing of existing footage, but that's about it. Perhaps you are thinking of the iLife Macintosh application called iMovie ... which is Mac software for Macs, and does not come with QT Pro. -- Adrian |

Check the help file. |

On the Mac side it's a great bargain for what it is in that respect. |

Check the help file. The subject concerned the PC version. Where is that feature? Note I am speaking of the difference between PC and Mac where the Mac version has the ability to create a new movie from the camera as it records. The PC version has no such thing. I see no Import option. |

My reply was to Adrian, who wrote "I'm not aware of Quick Time Player Pro on the Mac being software to make movies from a digital camera". I don't run Windows, so can't confirm or refute your claim that it doesn't import. In any case, your original post is off-topic for this newsgroup (see "mac" in the group name?). Discussing the Mac version of QT Pro is not. |

Go to developer.apple.com and register for a free ADC membership. Then file a bug report on the Windows version of QT Pro. By doing that, you ensure your concern is logged by Apple. Blowing off steam on usenet may relive tension, but it doesn't tell Apple anything. |
