Default Seeking recommendations for "iMac-ish" printers & scanners

Hi all, I'm upgrading my system from an old PowerMac 5400/120 running OS
8.6 ("mean machine" haha) to an iMac "Snow" G3 600mhz/512mb running Tiger
and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a printer and scanner
that would compliment this new computer's appearance. I currently have a
StyleWriter II and a Microtek ScanMaker X6 but they're SCSI and of course
that won't work with the iMac. What I'm interested in as much as the USB
connections and the compatibility with Tiger are products that kind of
resemble the iMac Snow in both color and design.

My StyleWriter II has a footprint of about 13 1/2" x 8" and my ScanMaker
has a footprint of about 11" x 17 1/2" so I wouldn't want anything much
larger than those dimensions. Anybody happen to have any printer and
scanner suggestions? Thanks!

I restrict myself to printers. Anything in Canon's PIXMA series is very
stylish, on top of being very good printers. Granted, they are not
white, but rather shiny black, and mine looks very nice next to a Cube.
At work we have one next to an eMac (which looks saggy in comparison).
And the inks are comparatively cheap.

If you can live with a feed-thru type scanner (not a flatbed, that is),
the Fujitsu ScanSnap is really nice (though a bit pricey).

I've been doing a little research and you must be referring to the Pixma
iP1500, which is probably what I'll wind up going with. I think it'll
compliment my iMac Snow better than the newer iP1600.

One good thing about these Pixma inkjet models is they're apparently
bundled with a lot of complete system packages and people who already have
a printer are letting them go pretty reasonable on eBay.

Thanks for pointing me in the Pixma direction, I really had no idea what
was out there lately.

No, I don't think I'd want anything but a flatbed because much of my
scanning is done from magazines and books.

I notice Hewlett-Packard currently has a flatbed that sells for about 100
bucks that doesn't look too bad or take up a lot of room, it might be a
good choice.

The one I've seen and used are mainly iP4000 which are already outdated
by two generations. They are black with silvery edges.
