Default Upgrade Pismo to Powerbook 17

I'm going to upgrade my Pismo to a Powerbook 17 G4 - anyone know about
what the relative speeds will be between the two?

My Pismo is a 400mhz unit with a 100mhz bus, and the PBG4 is 1.5ghz with a
1.66mhz bus. Both use ATA/100 drives@5400rpm.

Anyone know if games play well on the G4 17? Will they use the whole
screen?

Thanks in advance for any info or comments.

Well, the G4 will be faster. I guess you probably know that, but I'm
not sure what more you want. I'm not aware of any quantitative numbers
regarding the practical difference in speeds between any two
PowerBooks.

I play games on my 1 GHz 17" G4 all the time, and the performance is
good. Make sure you've got plenty of RAM, though! I'd say 512 MB is a
minimum. From what I've heard, performance would be better on a
desktop machine, but I've just gotta have a laptop...

As to whether they will use the whole screen, you need to look at the
specs for the game in question. Some will (such as WarCraft III), some
won't (such as Dungeon Siege).
