Hi!

My Mac: G4/400 € 960MB € 2x40GB Internal HD € 80GB External
(Firewire) € 160GB External (USB 2.0)

I installed a Sonnet "Tango 2.0" USB/Firewire Card to drive my new 160GB
USB HD.

On startup (or wakeup from Sleep) I get the black square that says I
must restart my computer (in about five languages.)

Things work OK if I restart with nothing plugged into the Sonnet card.
After startup, I can plug in the USB 2.0 HD and it works fine.

Any ideas? I have sent this same note to Sonnet, but no reply yet.

Thanks!

Check the articles and user reports at Accelerate Your Mac. Combo
(FireWire + USB) cards are notorious for causing problems. The Keyspan
USB 2.0 card I used in a PowerMac G4 DP 450 (about the same generation
as yours) gave me no problems with startup or sleep. YMMV.
