The notion that any English translaiton of the Bible, especially the
King James Bible, is authoritative, is not far removed from ridiculous.
All translations of the Bible were informed by the political and social
beliefs of the people doing the translation.
The Bible itself is so full of inconsistencies and contradictions, not
to mention inaccuracies in translations arising from changes in the way
languages are used and the beliefs of the translators, that its use, in
its entirety, as the authoritative word on creation, history, and
morality is intellectually dishonest.
