"Breaking the news, Adobe group product manager for After Effects Stephen
Kilisky said: "Premiere is to be Windows-only from now on. We have rewritten
the application from the ground up for Windows."

According to the article, the decision centers around the fact that 80-90% of
Adobe's Premiere customers are Windows users -- reflecting the success of
Apple's Final Cut Pro product."

Adobe decided not to code ATM Deluxe for Mac OS X quite awhile back.
I'd been using ATM continuously since 1994. But life goes on. And I
still have all of the free quality Adobe fonts that were included
with various versions of ATM over the years. BTW, your ATM Deluxe
password qualifies you for a Font Reserve competitive upgrade. So
don't throw away that password!

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. What will we do? What *will* we do? Now
there's just iMovie, Final Cut Express, and Final Cut from Apple...

I'll tell you what we'll do: We'll revive the old argument about how
Microsoft couldn't compete in the PPC market with NT, and just do a few
global substitutions. Here, I'll start: Adobe Premiere couldn't compete
in the Macintosh market.

This is hardly shocking news. The program was already abandonware at
this point anyway. They were barely developing and supporting it as was.

Everyone will read into it whatever they want; some are claiming it's
more evidence of worsening relations between Adobe and Apple, but I just
say, Nah. OTOH, it looks like Photoshop 8, chock full of all those
special secret enhancements that Adobe puts in just for Apple even
though the PC is preferred, is around the corner.

Who was the idiot journalist who wrote that? "Apple's marketshare is at
%2, reflecting the success of the trs 80".
"the fact that 80-90% of
> Adobe's Premiere customers are Windows users" in no way *BY ITSELF* reflects the success or failure of anything.
