Running IE 5.2.2 and OS 10.2.6,
I've got a very annoying problem.
I can't set my startup page to a blank page neither in the IE prefs nor in
the System prefs 'Internet > Web'.
When I restart Mac it's right back Apples site.

Any one???

TIA

Mads

Try these suggestions that have been circulating the group:

Many users have reported success with this method: Quit out of all
applications, open Internet Explorer, change your preferences, then quit out
of Internet Explorer. Your preferences should then save correctly.

Try repairing permissions.
For OS 10.2.x:
Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. Open up Disk Utility. Select
your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab. Click the button to "Repair
Disk Permissions".

For OS 10.1.5:
Download the Repair Privileges utility, free from Apple, and run it:

Try updating to the latest OS you see in Software Update.

Try updating to Internet Explorer 5.2.3:

I'll be...
It worked!!!
If you only knew how many times I did like you suggested, but I did it with
Entourage running in the background.

I tried your second option too. Seems to be a good idea, lots of permissions
were set wrong.

So all in all a very fruitful reply I got from you.

THANKS a lot, Mickey.
