Hi. I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to make my gmail
download into a seperate folder like my hotmail account does. I want to
not have my gmail email download to "my computer" but rather have it
act like hotmail. How do I go about doing this?? Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

You need to create an IMAP account under Tools->Accounts.

Gmail doesn't offer IMAP
<http://gmail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=10339>

You would need to take advantage of the Gmail's auto-forwarding feature and
forward al of your mail to another account, like a free Bluebottle IMAP
account <http://www.bluebottle.com/>.

I have mine set up so that all Gmail goes to a specific folder called
"Gmail" on my computer. First, create a folder (File > New > Folder) for
Gmail and put it where you like in your folder hierarchy. Mine is a
subfolder of the Inbox. Set up a "Mail (POP)" rule in Tools > Rules that
looks like this:
* Execute actions if any criteria are met
IF Account is Gmail
THEN Move Message Gmail

Now all mail goes to that one folder. I also have another rule above it
that moves copies of mail I send to another folder.
* Execute actions if all criteria are met
IF Account is Gmail
IF From contains myaddress[at]gmail.com
THEN Move Message Sent Gmail
