Have you applied the latest Office X update? If not, download and install
the Office X 10.1.2 update, free from Microsoft.
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/DOWNLOAD/OFFICEX/OfficeX_1012.asp>

Try repairing permissions.
For OS 10.2.x:
Go to Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities. Open up Disk Utility. Select
your hard disk, then click the First Aid tab. Click the button to "Repair
Disk Permissions".

For OS 10.1.5:
Download the Repair Privileges utility, free from Apple, and run it:
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106900>

Run Disk First Aid. Instructions on how to run it in OS X are located on
the Apple Knowledge Base.
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214>

Have you tried deleting the "Microsoft" preferences folder in HD/Users/<Your
User>/Library/Preferences/Microsoft?

Have you tried testing for bad fonts?

I performed a "typical" rebuild of the Entourage X database and it
solved the problem for me immediately.

Go to "Entourage help" found in the HELP menu within Entourage.
Go to "Reference information"
Go to "Maintaining your data"
Select "About rebuilding the database"

It takes you through the process of performing a typical rebuild,
which is very simple and it compresses the database and optimizes
performance.

Hi Greg,

I'm sure the reason Mickey didn't recommend a Rebuild in the first place is
because you said you were having problems in Word, Excel and IE as well. It
sounded like an Office or system issue. Also, Rebuilds are not usually the
answer for unexpected quits. I'm glad it worked for you, however, but I
would still recommend Mickey's suggestions for your problems with other
applications.

My Entourage X also just started quitting. My Word works unless I
click on an email address. I'm using OX 10.2.6. Entourage quits when
I'm just starting it, but my fonts seem okay. I've tried removing the
Preferences and even the Database without any luck. Ideas?
