Similarly I installed MS Query on SR1 and also installed
CompleteMySQL-4.0.13.dmg from Server Logistics. Odbctest works and yet I get
"ODBC is not installed on this system."

Is Microsoft still not aware of what it is asking people to do.

Hi

It might make a difference concerning the order of installation. Try running
the Office 1.2 update again then repair permissions.

Nigel,

If you can, please try with Openlink's free trial version of their MySQL
ODBC driver. It's available at http://www.openlinksw.com

It that works for you, we can probably narrow it down to an incompatibility
between Excel and MyODBC.

I don't think it's an incompatibility between Excel and MySQL/MyODBC
because I just got it to work. I found this article helpful -
http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2003/06/20/odbc.html

now here's my question ... now that I can get this working on one
machine, do I need to set-up MyODBC drivers, DSNs, etc. on every
client machine to get them to be able to use Microsoft query?
