Some ppt files on a PC-formatted zip disk appear as generic icons when the
zip drive is plugged into a G4 powerbook running OS 10.2.6 and they cannot
be opened. The same files on the same zip disk, when plugged into a G4
powermac running OS 9.2.2 are perfectly OK. If the files are copied to the
powermac and then transferred to the powerbook, they are fine. Anyone any
ideas?

I wonder whether this could be a limitation of 10.2.6 with DOS formatted
disks. Do the file have the .ppt extension ?? Anyway I sure would not
open my files from the zip cartridges. It is much safer (and faster) to
copy them to your drive. I've had very bad experiences with Zip
drives...
