Anyone know if there is a delay in being able to validate a qualifying
machine bought through the Apple Store?

The machine arrived today and was registered but I don't pass the
'test' of serial number. This was obtained as per instructions using
the 'about this fine mac' info panel.

Phone Apple, explain the problem and ask them to sort out Panther for
you. Failing that, jump on the supplier.
