Hi Moro:

Sorry, automatic language recognition is one of the features that did not
make it in from the PC to the Mac version of Word.

Forgive me, but I strongly encouraged the developers at Macintosh Business
Unit to "forget" this one.

On the PC Word groups we spend a large percentage of our time helping users
with the problems that automatic language detection causes -- on the Mac I
believe that we should be DEEPLY grateful that we haven't got it :-)

Cheers

Hi John,

I never had any "problems" with automatic language recognition on my
PC, it was really a useful feature for those of us that write messages
in two or three languages. I believe that features should be
available for those that want to use them, and those that do not want
to use them should be able to deactivate them. But purposely limiting
functions seems contradictory to producing better applications. As a
former PC user, I see too many things missing in Office X applications
for Apple, which makes me wonder what have I gained switching from PC
to Apple (maybe the video editing will justify it). Except for the
nice color in Entourage, I cannot yet point to one feature that is
better.

Thanks and regards,

Moro
