Running OS 10.2.6 and MS Explorer 5.2.2 on an iMac 17". It takes a long
long long time for Explorer to start. Literally 5 minutes sometimes.
I'm upgrading memory from 256MB to 512MB on the machine because I need the
addl memory for Photoshop, but is this going to help speed things up? Where
should I look? HELP
Thanks

Adding some more RTAM will sure help for more applications but even
then... I don;t remeber seing IE taking so long to launch on any machine
I've laid hands on lately.
There might be a problem on your machine. Beside the usual tricks
(repairing permissions, making sure there is no directory damage) it
could be worth getting rid of the files you don't need:
cache files, history the explorer.plist in the preferences... and
cleaning up the other ones (check your coockies in the IE preferences
for instance).
The best thing would be to delete all the IE related preferences but I
would understand that might want to save some of them...
If you have any difficulty finding the files, let me know and I'll do my
best to list them for you.
