Hello,
I just wiped out my Mac G4 desktop and installed a fresh new copy of
OS X. When i tried to reinstall MS Office 2001 and run the
application, I would get an error message stating that the OS 9
environment was not detected. I forgot to install OS 9 before the
upgrade to OS X. I was wondering if there is a way to install OS 9
while under OS X or do I have to wipe out the machine again. At the
current moment, I am unable to use Office 2001 due to this reason.
Thank you for your time in this matter.

If you have the 4 cds for restoring software, then you can install OS9
and classic support.

Hi Kevin!
If you have a Mac OS 9 installer CD, you can boot from this and perform the
install onto the same partition as Mac OS X or another partion. You'll have
to select the option to perform a Clean Install in a new System Folder, but
this won't affect your Mac OS X.
Hope this helps! bill
