View Full Version : Simple Stats Programs
Are there any basic stats programs still available for the Mac.
Basically what is needed is regression, 2 sample tests, descriptive
stats and graphing. The program SchoolStat did this but hasn't been
updated for some time.
JMP and GLMStat (I'm the author of GLMStat, someone has contacted me
looking for something less complicated) both do more than is necessary.

The statistics add-on package in Excel will do the job adequately,
although it doesn't handle small sample sizes well.
A package I'm very grumpy about because I'm convinced it's a rip off of
my own AddStats software. Which did handle small sample sizes correctly,
but the market for that dried up when Excel 4 with the statistics
features included was launched.

FloStat from www.Senecio.com is still available I believe, but the user
would have to run it in Classic. It's a bit of a blast from the past,
but it gets the job done.

InStat by GraphPad is a nice little simple statistics program, but I
don' t think it has graphing capability.

it describes a number of statistical programs some of which appear
quite complex, but others are cross-platform web based and simpler.
also if you have virtual pc don't forget all the dos and windows
shareware can also be run.
