Hi

I have a g4 powerbook prismo.

I currently have a 6 gig drive. I am thinking about going over to best buy
and buying a larger hard drive and putting Jaguar on it instead of my os 9.x
..

How big a drive can I put in it can I buy say a 20 or 40 gig drive?

Anything to watch out for on the Jaguar install?

thanks in advance

Do you mean G3 Pismo, not that it matters. Yes you can certainly have a
10, 20GB or larger drive in this machine (on any other PowerPC/G3/G4).
You'll just need to make sure you buy the correct size casing - 12mm etc
(sorry if I'm telling you something you know).

Whether to go for Jaguar - why not Panther? Even though there will no
doubt have been some posts talking of the odd prob with the new OS it is
definately worth getting. For one, it has Journalin and defraging of
files on the fly, which will improve reliabilty. I've been running it
since day one and though I'm not a fan of the Brushed metal it works
well and is slighlty quicker in operation.

Hope that helps you decide.
