Does taking a PB5300 infrared board/cable (removed from the PB5300
obviously) and installing it in a PB190 work? Is it the exact same
board/interface as what Apple used to sell seperately for the PB190?

Hi,
As seen in the Apple "Service Source PB190/5300 Serie" .pdf document, it
seems that the IR board is the same for these two models of PB.
