Hello all. Can anyone please tell me if the PCMCIA Card Cage for a
Pismo will work in a Lombard? I found one on Ebay, but do not want to
go through the pain of disassembling my Lombard if the cage will not
work. TIA

Does the PCMCIA Card Cage for the Pismo support 2 cards and the
Lombard 1? Are there any other differences or are they
interchangeable? TIA

My Pismo has only one PC Card slot. Looking at the Apple tech
specifications shows that the 333MHz Bronze Keyboard (I don't know the
nickname for this one) has 2 Type II PC Card slots. The 400MHZ Bronze
Keyboard (I've always called this one the Lombard, but I might be wrong)
has 1 Type II PC Card slot. The Pismo has 1 Type I or II PC Card slot.

Based on the above information, it appears that there is some difference
between the Pismo and Lombard, but I don't know whether accepting a Type
I card is the result of a difference in the card cage or in some other
component.

John, thank you so much for your response. Any info is helpful to me.
I may simply have to "Drink the Kool-Aid" to find out if the two cages
are interchangeable!

The Lombard / Bronze Keyboard models (G3 333 and G3 400 mhz models)
have one (1) PC Card and its identical (I have a G3 333 sitting beside
me right now). The only difference between the 300 and 400 is the
speed, the 400 came with 32 more megs of Ram and could play DVD's.

I have no idea if the cages are identical or not, but since the Pismo
is based on the same form factor as the Lombard series, I'd be somewhat
surprised if thye were not the same.
