He wants to know what URI to specify for an Oki 410ex (in HP Laserjet
III mode) which is connected to his Mac via a USB-to-parallel adapter
which is itself on an add-in USB card. I'd love to help him but I have
no idea. Actually I know nobody who has successfully used a
USB-Centronics adapter with a Mac.

I have, but I don't know what URIs have to do with it. It becomes just
another USB printer. The USB printing class specifies that USB printers
look like parallel printers, so parallel printers become just like any
other USB printer when converted.

(thanx for your precise translation)...now you know at least one, I
made it without any problems with an HP695 and a noname
USB<->Centronics. Maybe the problem I had with the Okipage was: I tried
to configure it via CUPS itself, next time I will try print center.
