Hey there. I recently came into posession of a Powerbook 150, and it
has considerable difficulty booting. I managed to get it to the point
where the machine will power up, and the screen backlight will come
on. It makes a bunch of hard drive noises, and then nothing else
happens. I've tried holing in the reset button for 10 seconds, as per
the user manual, but that didn't achieve anything. Anyone got any
ideas? Thanks.

Step one is probably to check the condition of the PRAM battery. Another
thing you can try is to attach an external SCSI drive onto which you
have installed the proper system (somehow) and then see if you can get
the machine to boot off that hard drive; the idea here is that maybe
your internal system/drive is hosed in some way. You could even try
booting from a system floppy, if (as mine did) it has a floppy port. m.
