Does anyone know if Apple is planning to support 802.1x (TKIP) in the
near future? I looked at their website and couldn't find any mention
of any wireless security besides WEP.

Anyone?

According to the article "Extreme Revolution" in the June, 2003 issue of
MacWorld (pp. 79-84):

Unfortunately, Apple hasn't agreed to support either updated
security system yet, which could make Macs less secure in networks
that uses the newer standard. (pg. 80)

The security systems referred to are IEEE 802.11i and WPA.
