now that the crescendo G3 PCI card is selling for as little as $150 new
and for less than $100 with a fair amount of memory on board on ebay,
i'm thinking it's time to give my old 7200 a little nudge. any positive
or negative feedback, precautions or considerations from anyone
experienced with or informed about the product would be appreciated...

i've got the 7200/90 with 104 mB ram and two hds (one 500 m and one 4.3
g,) and an L2 cache of 256k which i understand will not be supported. i
don't have any extra video ram installed and also wondering whether that
would make a difference one way or the other. i also have a usb pci card
that i bought recently for my digital camera.

I've installed several. If your demands are reasonable and the machine
is stable, it works well. In some cases they can be pure hell. Check the
xlr8yourmac.com database for details.

The extra 1 MB of VRAM is nearly essential to avoid video artifacts.
