I'm looking for a dual format DVD burner (+R/RW-R/RW) that Apple computers
will recognize using either OS 9.2 or X when I drop the drive into an
external case that can be used as
firewire.. At the moment this seems to be a highly kept secret.
Apple computers seem to only recognize the -R/-RW format. I read of one
person who tried using a dual format burner and the Apple wouldn't see it.
I'd like to find out if this is true of all of them or if someone has a dual
format burner and using it happily.
Thanks,

Thank you.
That site provided the exact information I needed and a hell of a lot more.
Apparently the dual format burner will work. I had been considering a
Pioneer VDR-106D and many folks have written in their experiences of how
they installed it into a G3/G4 and are even using a hacked driver in OS X.26
(I think) so it will play itunes.
Again, very much appreciate your help.
