Hi all!

I've got myself a PowerPC 6400 motherboard which I intend to fit to my
old Performa 6360 (Internal VDU) but I don't have any RAM for this
board.

So... I have a 64M PC 133 DIMM lying around which fits the board,
question is - will it work ? I'm not sure if the mac pumps 5V into the
memory bus and might fry the DIMM ???

Any advise would be greatly appreciated, as I can't find out this
information from any of the Mac sites I've seen or even the memory
configurator! :-(

Both the 6360 and 6400 use the same 5V ram chips.

My understanding is that the Older PowerMacs use either 5V Fast Page
Mode DIMMs or 5V EDO DIMMs.

A 3.3 V PC DIMM will not work. Chances are you will either fry the
chip or the motherboard.

I believe it wasn't until the 1st generation G3's that the PM's were
able to use PC66 RAM.

I know that my PowerMac 7200 and 7600 only can take 5V DIMMS.

Hope that Helps.

Also, check www.lowendmac.com for older system info. It's a very
helpfull site.
