I have a beige G3 desktop Mac which seems to have had its Ethernet port
damaged by a lightning strike that got to our house's Ethernet wiring.
I assume the only actual repair is a new motherboard.
Is there a PCI Ethernet card that would work? I would guess that might
be a cheaper way to get network connectivity back. Thanks for any
suggestions.

I have a D-Link DFE530+TX in my StarMax clone which has worked well.
They have Mac drivers on their web site for 8-9 and OS X.

I've seen them as low as $5.00 at OfficeMax after rebates.
