I have a G3 Wall Street with a newer Lithium-Ion battery. Suddenly the
machine stopped recognizing the battery, showing an "X" through the battery
icon on the desktop menu. This happened after I'd bumped the computer
accidentally, but not violently, against a doorway while it was in my
shoulder bag. (Insert joke here.) I called the battery maker and they were
doubtful a blow to the battery would scramble it, saying the contents are
solid and not easily scramble-able. I wonder. I tried the old "Battery
Reset" program, but it appears that does not work with Li-Ion batteries.
Strangely, however, the program does recognize that I have a battery in the
bay. The machine does not, in either bay, and so I'm battery-less. Any ideas
for reviving my apparently comatose battery?
