Hello...

Lately my G4 Cube has been making some sort of high pitched (but not high
volume) electric-sounding hissing .. I'm not really sure where it comes
from.

Does anybody else experience this? What is this sound? Can it be cured?

Can't really tell without actually listening to it.

It could be the power supply or it could be the hard drive.

If it's the power supply, get it replaced immediately. If it's the
hard drive, it might last a good many years with that noise before
anything actually fails.

Either way, make a backup (if you don't routinely make them) and
bring it to an Apple service center to look at it.
